Education Program Manager

Position Vacant
TATC Director of Education will work consistently with the Touchwood Agency Tribal Council Member First Nation Schools and education committees. The Director of Education is responsible for maintaining a high level of education and services
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer the New Paths Program for TATC Education Program, The Parental and community Engagement Strategy, the Special Education Program and the National Crime Prevention School Elders Program(s) following TATC’s Education strategic plan
  • Provide seconds level education services for bands schools
  • Ensure access to education, instructions and student support services in the band and provincial schools
  • Negotiation, development and/or management of provincial tuition arrangements
  • Ensure education standards enable inter-school transfers
  • Ensure students registers are maintained and accessible
  • Ensure each member First Nations reviews school programs
  • Conduct yearly staff and program evaluations

Objectives
The primary objective of this mandate is to provide cultural learning support to area school and the TATC.

Scope of work
The scope of work shall include but not limited to the following activities:
  • Establish a schedule, in consultation with area schools to provide cultural teaching
  • Provide cultural teachings at the Punnichy elementary and high school, Muskowekwan and Kawacatoose First Nation’s schools
  • Provide TATC with cultural support as required by the Agency
  • Design a system to record cultural teaching and share the information with the Agency
  • Provide TATC with the necessary receipts and documentation as requested by TATC
  • Report to the TATC office at least three times a week
  • Provide TATC with detailed written reports of work accomplished on behalf of the Agency for each pay period
